Childhood obesity is a multifactorial condition that depends on very early-life determinants involving genetic and prenatal factors, diet, physical activity, and home environment. Poor nutritional behaviors, maternal health, and psychological stress during early life expose children to excessive weight gain and other chronic diseases throughout life. IOMC, on behalf of childhood obesity, provides the opportunity for professionals to come together to discuss new concepts in intervention and policies toward eradicating its very roots. The focus should be on early interventions dealing with lifestyle changes, educating the parents, and public health policy to reduce the burden of this disease and maintain lifelong health.
